I'm a Minnesotan, a yoga teacher, a mom, and a photographer.
I was born and raised in Minneapolis, but I never thought I'd actually live here in adulthood. After I moved away for college at 18, I lived elsewhere (Boston, Chicago, London, San Francisco) for thirteen years before realizing that the 612 was really the place to be. I met my (now) husband ten days after I moved back and we have two beautiful boys, so yep, I'm pretty happy with my decision.
I've been teaching yoga for over a decade, and it's still my primary gig. I teach a daily morning Mysore-style Ashtanga program in Kingfield, Minneapolis, at the Center for Performing Arts. More info on that is here.
Photography has always been a fun hobby for me-- since high school I've believed wholeheartedly in the power of documenting life with photos (and filling journal after journal and album after album -- ok yes, I'm a scrapbooker). When my son was born in 2014 I stepped up my game in terms of taking actually good photos, and since then I've done what I can to learn more about the craft. I take a lot of photos of my boys, as they are my favorite models, but I've now expanded to taking clients as well. I shoot primarily on a Canon 5D "Classic." My style is simple, clean, natural lighting and a light hand in editing. I like to capture moments as they are in life: perfectly imperfect.
Photos of me are taken by my husband, Peter Wannemacher, unless otherwise noted. All other photography on this site is by me.
