Wahbon: Headshots

I haven't seen Wahbon since we were kids, just graduated from high school. Now we both have kids of our own-- her oldest is about to graduate high school himself-- and we have our 20-year reunion coming up in the fall. Life moves so quickly. It was beyond lovely to catch up and take some portraits of her on a cold Saturday morning in April.

Kristy Lee Hanson

This lady is a bodyworker and yoga teacher in Minneapolis. We spent an hour taking headshots and asana shots and having a grand time. Kristy had this to say about one moment during the shoot (referencing the first shot below) and I think it's a nice reminder about possibilities:

"While holding Bhujapidasana (shoulder-pressing pose), Ellie asked if I could do the thing where my head goes on the ground. I said something along the lines of, "I don't know, let's see what happens."

I'm so grateful to Ellie for taking and sharing this picture of me doing something I've never done before and reminding me that there is a very simple joy in exploring new ways of moving and holding the body."

 Thanks for playing, Kristy!

Family Session at Water Power Park

Now that the weather is finally warming up, I'm looking forward to doing more shoots like this one from last September-- a walk in the park (literally), gorgeous sunset lighting, following the littles and their loving parents around with a camera.

Here are some of my favorites from the evening.

I'll soon be adding posts with some of my favorite images from recent client sessions, so check back or subscribe. In the meantime, here are a few backyard tree-climbing photos of my niece and nephew!
